The fear of death is one of the most difficult things that a person can go through life with, and it is much more common in society than most people realize. For those that suffer with the fear of death, overcoming it is one of the biggest steps they will ever take. As long as you have a fear of death, your life will always be overshadowed by it, and you will always be stressed from day to day. Life will often lose it’s meaning because you are always waiting on the worst. The good news is there is a way to overcome your fear of death for good. Here is how you do it:

death

The first step in overcoming your fear of death is to understand death. One of the most common fears where death is concerned is the fear of physical pain after death. From a purely scientific standpoint, this is physically impossible. Your brain is no longer functional, so their is zero chance of physical pain once you cease to live. Take comfort in the fact that you can be free of this fear, and that the pains of this world will be over when you go.

Once you understand that the fear of physical pain is not valid, then the fear may develop into a fear of the afterlife, or pain in the spritual world. The bottom line for many is that they do not know what to expect when they die. This is a common fear that has surely plagued mankind for as long as we have been on this Earth.

Depending on how you believe, you might alternately believe that you go to Heaven, hell, or to 10,000 virgins in the sky. Different religions believe different ways. The bottom line is that you need to get your spiritual life in order to feel that comfort. Regardless of what you believe, most all believe that you reap what you sow when you die. That is, if you are good you go to a good place, or if you are bad, you will somehow be punished. This leaves you with a fairly easy choice really.

Given this choice, live your life in the ways of your religion and beliefs. If you think that Jesus Christ is the way to Heaven, then you should live the Christian life and strive to be a good one. This will take care of the fear of spiritual pain, and leave nothing else to fear about death.

If you have no worries of physical or spiritual pain, then a fear of death is a moot point and is gone forever.
