Common Reasons for Breaking Up

Every relationship is unique in its own way. Couples all have their own problems, which may ultimately affect the future of their relationship. There are a number of different common reasons for breaking up in our society. All of these reasons can be applied to both men and women when they make the decision to end a relationship with someone.

“Breakup"

1. A lack of excitement. If the relationship has grown to be dull over time, one or both people may become very bored. This is why it is very common for relationships to end after six months, once the excitement of a new romance has worn off. When two people often find themselves with nothing to do and nothing to say to one another, it can be very common for them to break up.

2. Different expectations. If one of the people in the relationship wants to get married and have children one day, it can be a problem if the other person doesn’t feel the same. There are also situations in which one person may expect too much, such as jewelry and expensive meals, from the other person. This can lead to a breakup over time, unless both people are willing to find a happy medium with their expectations.

3. Incompatibility. Although you may feel attracted to someone physically, this does not mean that you are emotionally right for one another. On the other end of the spectrum, those who have personalities which go great together which may not actually be physically attracted to each other. If you are simply incompatible with one another, this can be a good enough reason to break up.

4. Lack of trust. Whether you do not trust the person that you are dating not to cheat on you or you don’t trust yourself not to cheat on them, trust can be a major problem. If there is not enough trust in your relationship, breaking up is not too far away.

5. Separate lifestyles. If one of the people in the relationship is a party animal, but the other prefers to stay at home on weekends, this can lead to problems. When schedules coincide with one another, friends do not get along, or you simply are not on the same page with where you are in life, this can really have a huge impact on the relationship and ultimately lead to a breakup.

It is important to remember that much like every relationship is unique, every breakup is unique as well. One of the five common reasons for breakups may not necessarily be the reason that your relationship came to an end. However, these reasons tend to be much more common reasons for breaking up than many others. Whether you are a male or female who is trying to determine why your significant other broke up with you, it is a good idea to look at one of these reasons as being a possibility since they are often the reason that many relationships do not always work out.
