Turn That Extra Hard Disk Into Something Awesome

You just bought yourself a new hard disk, and you’re quite proud of it. This time you purchased something really big. Most people nowadays wouldn’t purchase a hard disk whose capacity is less than 120G. The reasons may be with the price or on the information they need to store. Also, in the event that your PC, Mac or Laptop crashes or your hard disk was burned to a crisp, you would need a hard drive to use as back up. However, when you purchased the hard disk, you just found it hard to plug in your computer and probably thought twice because of the hard drive space already available on your computer. You end up with a hard disk that can pack up many songs, but is useless because it’s not that important to add right now.

Instead of putting them on the shelves for safe keeping, here are two easy ways you can add to your hard disk and make it even better than your MP3 player.

First is the so called hard disk enclosure. This enclosure will transform you hard disk into something you wish it had – a USB memory storage device. This enclosure is applicable for the recent hard disk drives which are basically what you have right now. It’s also very easy to assemble the enclosure with the hard disk. All you need is to place the hard disk inside the box, lock it and there it is. You already have a USB storage device with a capacity more than your computer. You don’t need to worry about being destroyed, as these devices are hard disk friendly and the hard disk itself is known to be durable in any condition. Once you plug it in your computer, the computer will just see it as another USB device where you can store anything that you want.

The next device even takes the enclosure to the next level and beyond. Most of the computer geeks call it the HDD player, which is a good definition in itself. The enclosure is good since it will store all the music, files, movies and pictures in your hard disk fast and easy. The hard disk player does even more. Aside from being a massive storage device, it can also play music, videos and watch jpeg pictures on your very own television screen, without the help of your computer.

The hard disk drive player comes with a remote control that you can use to watch videos. It also has a video and sound out plugs and cables that you can easily place on your television. All you need is to turn the TV into video mode and you’re ready to play. No sweat at all. To make it even clearer for you, you just 1) copy the movie to the hard disk payer 2) plug the hard disk to your TV and 3) enjoy.

These devices will certainly bring to life the hard disks that you fail to use in one way or another. These will even become more important for your mobile players since it can transfer its videos to your televisions.

I have resurrected many an old hard drive by buying an enclosure and slapping in the old drive. You don’t even have to have them running all the time, just turn them on when you need to store some data.

They also make great back up drives that can then be taken to an off site location or placed in a safety deposit box for safe keeping.
