The Power Of Collaboration Software

In recent years, companies have used so called platform collaboration software, and it has gained in fame because of its usability and ease of installation and zero maintenance (if properly installed). The best way to answer why you need such software whether web-based or not is to know how it works.

A platform collaboration tool is basically a software that everyone can access at anytime. Think of this as a Wikipedia just for your company. Multiple users can post blogs, information and various updates in real time on the project that they are working on as a group. Everyone accesses the shared data repository, and can make changes if you permit them to do so. Read on and see some of the most popular and powerful collaboration platform software that you can use for your business.

TWiki – as the name will suggest, the software really works like Wikipedia. People can post projects and others can modify with them with the updates of their own. Since this software is absolutely free, it can even be tweaked and extended by your in house techies with various plug-ins. TWiki is a project in itself developed by software developers from all parts of the globe.

OpenTeams – If you want something already packaged to your computer, consider this software developed by a team of developers from Texas. This tool removes all the unnecessary browsing for your business and they will see only what’s important. However, since we’re all humans, the lighter side of the software is also easy to use. You can drag and drop any pictures and movies for anyone to see. Control the information that goes in and out, and instead of sending e-mail to everyone, you can just update them all with just a simple post in the bulleting board.

ClearSpace – This tool offers even more for bigger companies. This software basically has everything, an offline wiki for your company, chat, e-mail and even a VoIP for those outside calls. The server requirements for ClearSpace may be a bit complicated compared to other collaboration software but it really does the job as everyone will be updating in real time and it has even become possible for those that are allowed for a call-out using their VoIP service.

MindQuarry Go – This open-source software is a definite must-have for cross country collaborators. You can work together with this simple tools and best of all, this is a web-based software therefore you don’t need to download anytime.

Before you go ahead and try some of these collaborative software, consider what you need for your company. Sometimes, there are tools that you just don’t need such as e-mail, or VoIP. Having this kind of software can create an environment for your employees to work together without having to move around and communicate in person, and best of all, you can even join in anytime and make sure everything is doing great.
