Representatives from Verizon have confirmed that the telecommunications company will begin branching out into the laptop computer business. InformationWeek.com is reporting that Verizon plans to begin offering low-priced notebook computers, which will be available at a cheaper subsidized price in exchange for signing a two-year subscription service contract with the company.

Even before its official release, Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system continues to receive upgrades and “makeovers” designed to improve both its appearance and performance.
