Teaching your toddler to draw is not as tough as it might seem. Toddlers are remarkably attentive when it comes to things like drawing and artistic creativity. Just spending the time with them is usually enough to ensure that they are off and running in the world of art. Still, there are some specific things you can do to give them a head start on basic drawing concepts.

The Top Five Animated Cartoon Cats Of All Time
The lovely kitty cat has long been a very important part of our cartoon landscape, and many of them are more famous than even the most popular dogs. Even the most avid dog lovers have to admit that the animated cartoon cats assembled here can at least give them a run for their money. Here are the top five animated cartoon cats of all time as voted on by…me:
The Five Top Superhero Comic Book Characters Of All Time
Any discussion that ends with the phrase “of all time” is sure to draw plenty of debate, and in the world of superheros and comic books it is especially so. Few comic book fans feel the same about the top five, much less the number one slot. This list is based on a survey of all the people at my own local comic shop. There were twenty five people involved, and all are huge comic fans of at least ten to twenty years each. Here are the top five superhero comic book characters of all time! (or at least of our shop)
How To Create The Ultimate Comic Book Super Villain
Comic books offer something special to us. They allow us to overcome (or not) the horrible evil and ills of our society in a grandiose fashion. Sometimes these evils are on a smaller scale, and sometimes they are world domination, but they all must have the same driving force behind them….. a comic
book super villain. As a creator and writer, your super villain must be capable of driving the story. This requires a very distinct set of qualities that all great super villains must have.
Frank Miller-Comic Book Icon
This comic book artist and American writer began illustrating comics back in 1978. Since then, Frank Miller has went on to both illustrate as well as write many comic books for comic book companies including Epic, DC, Marvel, and Dark Horse. He has both illustrated as well as written some of the major titles in the world of comic books. These titles include Daredevil, Spiderman, Todd McFarlane’s “Spawn”, Batman, and of course his own works Sin City and 300. Both of Frank Miller’s solo projects have been successfully made into critically acclaimed movies.
Riding the Wake Of the Comic Book Industry Slump
Comic book collectors have more reasons to hang on to their mint copies of Uncanny X-men #1 with a viselike grip. It seems that the comics industry is slowly, yet inevitably marching on towards going digital. It’s been half a year since Marvel made the move by publishing 2,500 issues from its archives into a digital format, available for online viewing (by subscription of course). The fees are luring – 10 dollars per month, 60 dollars per year, but you can’t download the copy on your computer, much less touch the crisp images with you fingers. DC and Dark Horse Comics followed suit not long after; DC put up digital copies on massive networking site MySpace, and launched Zuda Comics, a format which allows users to comment and evaluate each other’s work. Dark Horse showcased anthologies on the same site, featuring large, scrollable pages in hyper-real color (dubbed as “Dark Horse Presents”).
Pax Romana - Religion, Time Travel, and Plenty of Reading
Most comic books come across as pictures with words. What’s happening in the art itself is usually the most important part as you can tell what’s happening or is going to happen along with the mood of those on the page. But every once in a great while, a comic book comes along that breaks that barrier and reminds us that there is more to it then just a well received image. Jonathan Hickman’s four part mini-series, “Pax Romana” released through Image Comics is an excellent example of this kind of style as it’s chock full of words with a very unique blend of art as its background.
Hayao Miyazaki And Japanese Anime
Hayao Miyazaki is an acclaimed director of Japanese animated films. Miyazaki is the creator and director of numerous Japanese anime feature movies. Albeit a virtual unknown in the United States except the anime circles until his feature film Princess Mononoke was released in Miramax in 1999, most of Miyazaki’s anime films have enjoyed critical as well as commercial successes in his country, East and Southeast Asia. Miyazaki’s feature film, Spirited Away, is the all-time highest-grosser in Japan. His other anime, the Princess Mononoke also possessed the same title for some time until the movie Titanic’s release in Japan that same year.
