Up close and personal. Well, this is what best describes Close-up Photography. There are a lot of things that creative photographers can do, and a lot of them have been used to express feelings, ideas and other forms of thoughts that run in a person’s mind. For aspiring photographers, dissecting the beauty of normal things we see in our everyday lives can hold various meanings; it just depends on how creative minds work and what images to take.
A lot of people have taken the art of photography towards new levels. Some have gone to the extend of investing largely on hi-tech cameras, equipment and other photography equipments necessary such as specialized lens for better representation. While some may find such investments as outrageous, it is really funny how most people would change their minds once the shot has been taken and are enhanced in a way with the help of popular graphics software enhancers today such as Adobe Photoshop to create vivid images and pictures.
Things to Start With

Naturally, people who plan to become masters of the art would need a handy camera in tow to be able to start shooting pictures. With the advent of the digital camera, the usual SLR cameras today have taken a backseat since uploading them to the computer instead of having to scan them has preserved the level of quality such as pixels. Scanning, the primitive way of being able to transfer the images and produce quality images are yesterday’s news, even if people would set high quality settings. This is another beauty that technology has given to most people today.
Then there are the specialized lens which aid on providing the better quality enhancement pictures for quality output. While proper education may be needed to identify when and where to use the lens, the ability of knowing when to use and why to use the proper lens will be a key towards artistic photo enhancements later on. To some, lens may not be necessary, but for the advanced photography individuals, these help a lot in taking better quality images, regardless of what brand of camera they are using.
Zooming in on Investments and Costs
It is true that the cost for investing in professional cameras for macro photography is no laughing matter. People will really need to shelve out large amounts of capital to do so. While some may be dismayed at this fact, it entirely depends on the person who wants to take up the hobby. Lenses are a need to get proper zooming and capture the image at its best angle shot. For some cameras, their zoom option alone is fine.
The Pictures to Take
Normally, anything can be used as images that will become totally different once the picture image comes out. It all depends on imagination and creativity. Zooming in on the usual things we do not see in everyday vision can become the most beautiful objects we have ever seen. It just needs focus and imagination. The angle of shots is another aspect as it is not purely find and shoot. Portrayal of certain things we see can mean a lot to people who are good at being able to analyze, evaluate and divulge what an image can mean.
Maximizing the Image Space
It is best to maximize the space prior to taking a shot. This is one of the best ways to enhance photo shoots, considering that the actual object of the image is what is very important. The main object is the life of the picture, and failing to maximize the shot will affect the image purpose and overall quality, becoming good as trash.
While some would leave some space to save on enhancements later on, this can be customized with the available photo enhancing software from the person’s computer. While there are people who are good at natural photography taking, the alternative is that of resorting to this image enhancing software.
Photography is a hobby where people can be able to express and become creative individuals. While some are content with taking shots of random images, a lot would be surprised at how they can be able to transform these images to masterfully created photo shots today. A lot of people browse the web for images to help them in presentations or use them to act as complementary objects to their websites. All it needs is pure expression from the part of the one behind the camera.
Hayao Miyazaki is an acclaimed director of Japanese animated films. Miyazaki is the creator and director of numerous Japanese anime feature movies. Albeit a virtual unknown in the United States except the anime circles until his feature film Princess Mononoke was released in Miramax in 1999, most of Miyazaki’s anime films have enjoyed critical as well as commercial successes in his country, East and Southeast Asia. Miyazaki’s feature film, Spirited Away, is the all-time highest-grosser in Japan. His other anime, the Princess Mononoke also possessed the same title for some time until the movie Titanic’s release in Japan that same year.
Miyazaki started as an animator at Toei Douga studio in 1963. In the 1970s and early 1980s, he was able to rise up the studio ranks and dabbled primarily on television work in the late 1970s and early ’80s. His early directing work was the Nausicaä of the Valley of the Winds in 1984, which is a movie version of his well-known manga serial. The success of Nausicaa quickly propelled Miyazaki to becoming one of the country’s top personalities in Japanese animation. Miyazaki’s succeeding films became box office and critical successes. Many of his films released abroad not only were box-office hits but also award winners as well. Spirited Away was the 2002 Academy Award’s Best Animated Film. His other equally popular anime features include My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service, done in 1988 and 1989, respectively and the Howl’s Moving Castle, which he directed in 2004.
Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away (2001) and Princess Mononoke (1997) another lavishly done animated feature made him Japan’s one of the most successful anime directors.
Indeed, the anime works of Miyazaki have generally been financial and critical successes. Such success has drawn out comparisons with Walt Disney, America’s very own animator However, unlike Disney, Miyazaki was no ambition of seeing himself as a man building an animation empire. He was very much comfortable being a Japanese animator fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to make anime films with his own style and personal touch.
Hayao Miyazaki’s influence of Japanese anime has been immense; a great part of Japanese anime’ present style and form has been taken from most of Miyazaki’s own style. Miyazaki’s feature films are recognizable by often recurring themes such as man’s relationship and interaction to technology, nature and environment. Most of the Japanese anime characters are strong, just as Miyazaki’s protagonists of his movies are likewise strong and often in an attacking mood. Girls and women in today’s Japanese anime are influenced by Miyazakis’ independent and strong women in his films. Typically the villains in Japanese Anime are most likely ambiguous characters with redeeming values, as with Miyazaki’s villains.
Hayao Miyazaki’s group also influenced the Japanese anime by making traditional the “minimal movement” in animation. The typical anime was done with the use of movement, which actually is the biggest and most important feature of animation, as little and minimal as possible. This rather unique and unconventional style of animation was accepted even by international viewers because of the penetration and acceptance by the society of manga.
Miyazaki’s more pronounced influence of Japanese anime was by promoting the exaggeration of the situations of Japanese anime. Much of Japanese anime is dominated by excessive expressionism. The Japanese anime was created so that the viewers would see less gestures and facial expressions, but just one picture of the character expressing all the necessary charm that would effectively send the message across.
Hayao Miyazaki and his contemporaries started this trend of expressionism. The young Japanese animators followed suit and adapted this style of excessive expressionism. As anyone can notice, anime characters have huge eyes which would still have multi-colored highlights. Shadows of characters were painted in a variety of hues, and the hair was likewise done in bright, striking colors.
The anime work of Miyazaki influenced many Western animated films. Some of Western anime features containing such influences are the films The Boondocks, Total Spies!, the Teen Titajns, and W.I.T.C.H. Other animated works are feature films such as the Avatar. These Western feature films are not really labeled as a strictly anime work. They are however noted as being influenced by Miyazaki’s anime style.

The Chicago type of architecture has greatly influenced that of the American architecture as a whole. The most known city in Illinois, Chicago features and offers prominent buildings of varied forms and styles shaped and created by important architects. The buildings and skyscrapers of Chicago are very much known for their original design rather than antiquity because most of the early buildings in the city were burned or damaged by the Great Chicago Fire that unfortunately happened in 1871.
The history of Chicago architecture began in the decades of 1880s and 1890s with the Chicago School starting the trend of construction utilizing the steel frame and large pieces of glass plate. From this pioneering construction emerged the first and original modern Chicago skyscrapers. In 1885, the Home Insurance building of William Jenney was the first one to utilize steel instead of iron for its frame. However, the building still used stones and large bricks. Also in the 1890’s, architects Daniel Burnham and John Welborn Root designed more modern steel frames incorporated with glass and was built by a group of engineers led by Shankland and contractor George Fuller. This new and modern type of architecture by Burnhan and Jenney came to be known as the Commercial Form of architecture, but was later renamed by historians as the Chicago School.

During 1892, the new Chicago building the Masonic Temple was able to surpass the New York World Skyscraper, which in the records was listed as the tallest building in the world for two years. After a few years the Masonic Temple was displaced by another New York skyscraper from the title of tallest building.
Many outstanding Chicago architects worked, either alone or in partnership with other architects, to the creation of most of the city’s original buildings. With Daniel Burnham actively leading the architects in shaping the skyline of the city of Chicago, many historians claim about this group as being responsible for the revival of the Neo Classical type of architecture that swept not only the city but the whole United States as well. Burnham’s design of the White City was said to be specifically responsible for this architectural revival. It was Burnham who developed the 1909 city plan, a comprehensive plan based on Neo Classical form and style. Still, most of the city’s more modern buildings and skyscrapers were built and constructed after the closure of the Exposition, which was between the years 1894 and 1898.
Louis Sullivan, another influential and prominent architect was likewise greatly responsible not only for the Chicago architecture but that of the United States as well. The Prairie Scholl of Frank Lloyd Wright has also influenced the general building style and design as well as the furnishing style. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, head of the school of architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology and widely considered as a leading expert in modern architecture has worked labeled under the Modern or International style. Van der Rohe’s architectural work is also known as the Second Chicago School. There is also what is called the Chicago Seven, so-called because the group had seven members, all of which are the prominent architects of Chicago. The architects belonging to the Chicago Seven are Larry Booth, James Nagle, Ben Weese, James Freed, Stanley Tigerman and Tom Beeby and Stuart Cohen.
Some of the United States’ famous buildings and skyscrapers can be found in Chicago. The Sears Tower, which stands at 1451 feet, was the tallest skyscraper in the world which lasted for 24 years, starting in 1974 up to the year 1998. The Sears has an antenna which is 278 feet in height, and this has contributed immensely to the overall height of the tower. The city of Chicago also lays claim to the record of being the first in having more than one skyscraper building that contains more than one hundred floors. The skyscraper John Hancock building, on the other hand, boasts of a number of floors housing the condominiums. Such condominium is found between the restaurants and business floors of the buildings.
Some of Chicago’s other notable skyscrapers are the Aon Center (1,451 feet), AT&T Corporate Center (1,007 feet), the Two Prudential Bank (995 feet) and 900 N. Michigan Avenue (871 feet).
“The Producers” is an extremely well known production. Anyone who watches entertainment on television regularly or is well aware of current event is certain to have heard about this production. But while many people know that “The Producers” is a Broadway production, not many are aware that the original creation of this story was actually started in 1968 by Mel Brooks who had written and directed the whole production on film during the same period. It was only later adopted in 2001 as a Broadway musical where it earned rave reviews and garnered twelve Tony Awards.
It is an exceptional Broadway musical with the direction of Susan Stroman. “The Producers” transports you to an extremely funny and witty environment where you are surely going to enjoy yourself. The humor found in this production is varied and extensive. The delivery of the lines is also well-said and is timed so perfectly that you will have a hard time believing you are watching a musical and not the real thing. The writer of this story, Mel Brooks, has truly outdone himself this time.
The story basically revolves around Nathan Lane who plays the character of Max Bialystock who was once a well-known Broadway producer but is now encountering difficult times as a result of recent flops. The story progresses as he hires Leo Bloom played by Matthew Broderick as his accountant. Together, they make a scheme to achieve a Broadway hit through a unique and offensive play. The play is centered on race discrimination mainly against the Germans. Believing that this would become his next hit, Max Bialystock has affairs with old ladies to fund his production and get the musical started. A lot of mishaps appear as the person who plays Hitler encounters an accident on the stage forcing an assistance to play the part. The result of all these encounters and strategies is a radically funny play that will change the way you think about the Germans.
Many critics have hailed this musical as comedy’s return to Broadway and with that being said, this particular production, “The Producers,” have left its audiences laughing until after they left the theater. It has been doing so for years but because pop culture change from one generation to the next, Mel Brooks sought the help of veteran Thomas Meehan to help in the Broadway production. Indeed, this move proved to be wise one as audiences laughed their hearts out when watching this production.
But despite this, something seems to be missing because although it presents comedy at its finest, the art form that is known in most Broadway musicals seems to be lacking. This musical is not balanced in the sense that it contains no lyrics that can subdue the rough humor that is sometimes present in the songs. The rhymes are also nothing new and although it is not obvious, the sentiments found in this musical lack the genuine feelings and heart that the character should contain. In the song, “You Never Say Good Luck on Opening Night,” the performers truly showcased their natural singing talents but Brooks did not really permit his performers to show genuine emotion. But Tony Awards winner Nathan Lane shows mettle in his rendition of the song “Betrayal.” He truly had established himself as a top performer in a Broadway musical comedy. On the other hand, another Tony Awards winner Matthew Broderick also performed one of the best songs in “The Producer.”
However, what it lacks in sentiment, it more than make up for in the humor. The sounds in “The Producers” are also great as it only choose the top musical talents of today. But it wears thin as the show progresses because the ballads never cease their flippant humor. This would not be bad at all if the show was about thirsty minutes to an hour of entertainment but if the same thing is repeated throughout the two hours of entertainment, it is inevitable that the humor will wear itself out. Overall though, “The Production” is worth watching because it is a professional production that gives you a glimpse of what the glorious days of Broadway musical in the past had contained. You can be sure that audiences will continue to patronize this musical as long as the leading casts stays with the production.
